Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Regional Account Manager’s (RAM) primary focus will be growing BayWa’s sales to solar installers, developers, and EPC’s in the assigned territory through a combination of acquiring new customers and increasing the purchases of existing accounts. While the initial geographic emphasis will be Northern California, other regions may be considered in the future.

The RAM will, utilize his or her personal network, research, industry knowledge and customer referrals to grow the customer base in the region. In addition, he/she will work with the RSD to craft and execute a strategy to match or exceed financial targets.

The RAM will be required to negotiate pricing and terms, and support a network of installer/dealers with timely and accurate responses to inquiries. This will include both leading communication with customers and coordinating the functional groups within BayWa r.e. (sales, legal, credit, operations, etc) and external support personnel (e.g. engineering, product vendors, and financing firms).

In addition, the RAM will be expected to keep management up to date on relevant market trends including, but not limited to, the competitive landscape (and pricing), emerging technologies, the voice of the customer and any other challenges or opportunities that can impact projected sales.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Sales and Account Management

Develop and manage a regional account base to realize sales and margin objectives
Lead commercial negotiations on high value deals and support team as necessary in other contract negotiations
Effectively communicate BayWa’s value proposition and provide timely responses to customer inquiries
Research, prospect, and gain access to new customer opportunities

Continual Improvement

Provide feedback relating to the “voice of the customer” to BayWa management on a regular basis
Implement disciplined sales processes, approaches, tools, and metrics to maximize opportunity conversion and forecasting accuracy
Perform market research and communicate trends, analyses and recommendations to BayWa management
Assist in the creation of commercial sales materials (e.g. customer proposals, sales presentations, marketing brochures, etc.)

Skills Required: Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in business or engineering
2+ years of professional experience in PV sectors
Must be legally eligible to work in the US
Must be able to travel on a regular basis
Skills & Abilities:

Undergraduate degree
Demonstrated success in executing on sales and margin goals
Experience selling solar energy products, or developing and financing energy-related projects
Self-starter with drive to “make things happen”; excellent at project management and prioritization
Demonstrated success in building relationships at all levels of an organization internally and externally
Strategic thinker; capable of translating business objectives into tactical action plans and milestones
Comfort with the mechanical, electrical and structural aspects of solar installations, and with the rapid pace of technological change in the industry
Superior written, communication and presentation skills; ability to present technical information clearly and concisely
Ability to quickly learn to utilize CRM software, and existing proficiency in Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Team-oriented, detail-oriented, and creative
High personal integrity
