High Sun Engineering was founded in the year 2000 by Jack West and Christina Manansala to provide design engineering services to the sustainable building industry, with a focus on photovoltaic systems and building energy efficiency. Our services for photovoltaic systems include site evaluation, feasibility studies, design documents, construction oversight and commissioning. Energy efficiency consultation includes conceptual planning, passive solar building techniques, and recommendations for building components and systems. Our primary clients are architects, building owners, designers, and builders that are committed to sustainable building projects.

High Sun Engineering is unique to Northern California in its focus on solar system design. High Sun does not sell equipment, install systems, or represent manufacturers. The inherent neutrality of a company of solar experts that does not sell or install systems can benefit the building community. High Sun designs are based solely on the technical, budgetary, and aesthetic constraints of the project, not on the potential to profit.
